The coming together of the Naga Trible organisations including the United Naga Council (UNC), Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), Naga People’s Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR), Naga Mothers Association (NMA), Naga Women Union Manipur (NWUM), Naga Council Dimapur and others on the 25.10.2006 at Kohima was a landmark in the recent dramatic development of the two NSCN factions and clearly proves that the Naga Hoho is the body which the Nagas had reposed faith.
The leaders without any reservation, expressed the impact of the 60 years of the Naga struggle. Dr. Rev. Wati Aier, as published, was most vocal as always. He rightly asked the august house, whatever he spoke should not be interpreted word by word but, take up the context wholly. His point of hitting out the two factions of our NSCN was appropriate and explicit. He stated, it is a sin, if a few collaborate with the adversaries and arrogance have no place in the civilise world.
A senior citizen lamented when he appreciated a write up by Dr. Rev. Tuisem Shishak on the alleged stubbornness on reconciliation, he was reprimanded by the NSCN (IM).
Former honourable ato kilonser of the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) regime, Mr. Scato Swu and Paul Leo, president UNC, spoke on the excessive money laundering by both the NSCN. Scato Swu stated, he used to campaign in all available avenues that Indian money and not Indian bullets will killed the Naga freedom struggle. True to his words, he does not owns a four wheeler.
No one spoke of the NSCN (K) either way. May be that they had flayed the Naga Hoho as a shadow organization of the NSCN (IM) or that they have not score any countable progress on the cease fire and peace process with the GoI. Speakers were dismayed on the Quit Notice (QN) served to the Tangkhul Nagas.
On the Quit Notice, A S Arthur Tangkhul, a former secretary of the Assembly Secretariat of Nagaland and Ex-minister of Manipur and a band wagon member of Rishang Keishing Tangkhul, a three times chief minister of Manipur and the incumbent lone Manipur Rajya Sabha member, a pro Meitei, pro Indian, pro Congress party and an evil power hungry politician gave a heart touching speech on the QN. Mr. Arthur traced the contribution of the Tangkhul tribe of the Naga political movement since the 1950’s and regretted that a splinter NSCN (K) group had serve quit notice to the Tangkhuls.
One message was clearly derived from the senior citizen Arthur, that whoever denounces, flay the Naga movement and create hurdles for the welfare of the Nagas for a common Naga homeland by siding with the adversaries for riches, unjust power, will eat its own words and actions and will be humbled one time or the other. It is to be mentioned that, Rishang Keishing was responsible for retarding the interest of the Nagas and tribals of Manipur in tandem with congress party and the valley Meiteis for political power. Rishang Keishing was the man who sowed seed against placing the Manipur Hill Autonomous District Councils in the 8 Scheduled which will ultimately lead to Naga integration. (Little headway were made during the chief ministership of Messer’s R. K. Ranabir in May 13, 1991, R. K. Dorendro in April 17, 1993 and Radhabinod Koijam in March 23, 2001 for pleasing in the 8 Scheduled of the constitution. But for the last 20 years no Hill District Council election has been held for the unsettled tussle).
The Indian national congress party dominated by hypocrite Jawaharlal Nehru, his power hungry daughter prime minister Indira Gandhi, succeeded by her son Rajiv Gandhi as prime minister and now heading the party by the foreign born Italian Sonia Gandhi may be termed as enemy number one of the Naga unification and Naga issue solution.
It was Nehru the first prime minister of India who abrogated the Nine Point Akbar Hydari Agreement between the GoI and the Naga leaders. Then, Indira Gandhi imposed the infamous 1975 Shillong Accord and Sonia Gandhi has been saying Naga unification will be against the interest of the valley Meiteis. Who is she to keep the Nagas under the bondage of the Meiteis?
The Arthur of the congress and his ilk finding that no other appropriate forum to express their sorrows and remedies comes to the Naga Hoho and short of expressing, explore means and help my innocent people against the Quit Notice.
Assault of Keviletuo Kiewhuo VP Naga Hoho: some of the general public and the NSCN (IM) had spelt clearly that targeting a particular people by quit notice on general issues will lead to soft targets and settling scores on individuals and organizations. The assault of our dynamic and one of the strongman of the Naga Hoho, vice president Keviletuo Kiewhuo (Kevi) is outrageous and had exposed the dirty mind and inability to iron out differences of ideologies and approach with the Naga Hoho. The lofty ideals are verbiage whoever cannot have the support of the Naga civil bodies.
Mr. Kevi as a former member of the NPMHR and in the present position had been spearheading for the cause of the Nagas living across the four political territories of Assam, Arunachal, Manipur, Myanmar and Nagaland. The ugly action by dirty mind is against the interest of the scattered Nagas and if God willed their/his downfall will come sooner than latter.
All said, a situation will arise that the Naga Hoho will be approached by individuals, Naga factional groups for forgive and forget or bridge differences. One hoped, the Naga Hoho will not forsaken them, like the prodigal son of the Holy Bible who, after squandering his wealth with pleasure was starving and when approach the father, the father embrace him wholeheartedly and admitted him into his palatial home.
