The Mokokchung District Art and Culture Council (MDACC) will soon be launching this year's Naga Idol competition which will be the sixth such event. This year's event will be different in that the name ‘Naga Idol’ will be changed to a different name and this name-change program and the talent search competition will be launched by the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio at Mokokchung during August. Former Naga Idols will be performing in this kick-off programme. The MDACC invites all music lovers to participate/watch the new season of the soon-to-be renamed Naga Idol show. Former Idol winners are Moanungsang, Rokovotuo, Toshinaro, Topeni and Renbeni.
