DIMAPUR, AUGUST 30 (MExN): Reacting to the statement of NPF President, Dr. Shürhozelie that ‘one cannot believe in mere promises’ in regards to Congress resolution on Integration of Naga contiguous areas and Naga political issue, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) stated that it is too late for the NPF Party to come out talking on Naga political issue.
It reminded the NPF president they failed to fulfill the party’s promise made in the last General Election to bring solution within three months if voted to power adding that even after more than four years there was no action coming from the NPF of their efforts to bring solution.
“The people have tested the performance of the NPF led DAN Government and whatever promises they made to the people on the solution of Naga political issue is already a closed chapter for the NPF” stated the release issued by Vitsorel Lcho, member of the NPCC Media Cell.
It continued that the Naga political issue is a concern of all Nagas and the Congress would fully and actively participate in the process of finding lasting solution to the political issue saying that they were committed to develop a human and political relationship with all the groups by avoiding confrontation policies.
The NPCC expressed concern about mis-governance and mis-utilization of fund attracting many cases in the court as well as complaints from various sections of the people which marked the rule of DAN Government.
It charged the president that against such known misrule he was claiming that DAN Government has done a ‘wonderful progress’ and mocked that these ‘wonderful progress’ had to be viewed from the personal benefits derived by the NPF President who is also Minister in the DAN Government and not of the people.
The NPCC also threw in a good measure of caution to the DAN legislators that in the coming election, the Congress would explain to the people the ‘wonderful progress’ made by the DAN leaders while in office by diverting developmental funds for their own personal benefits.
