Newmai News Network Imphal | October 28 An “all political party meeting” on the “territorial integrity of Manipur with reference to the peace talks between the Government of India and NSCN-IM” took place in Imphal on Saturday. It resolved to depute members of the consultative committee formed by the Manipur State Government on this issue to Delhi and meet “concerned important stakeholders” of the Government of India in order to know the latest development and facts at the earliest. The political parties present the meeting will pursue the Government of India through their respective central leaders to “preserve and protect the oneness of Manipur” through any circumstances, the meeting resolved, according to an official statement. The meeting also resolved to form a sub committee comprising 5 to 7 members among the political party representatives to draft a “comprehensive memorandum” to be submitted to the Prime Minister of India. The meeting authorized the Chief Minister of Manipur to nominate members to the committee. “If necessary, a delegation of all political parties may visit Delhi to highlight the issue and its importance to Prime Minister and others,” the meeting further resolved. According to the official statement, before starting the meeting, Chief Minister N Biren Singh informed the gathering of the PM’s assurance to protect the “territorial integrity” of Manipur “at any cost,” the official sources said. “The State Government will take measures to protect the territorial integrity of the State in letter and spirit with the people of Manipur,” the statement noted. The meeting also welcomed peaceful solution to the ongoing peace talks between the Government of India and NSCN-IM without affecting other states, the official statement added. In pursuance of the resolution adopted in the meeting, a sub committee consisting of seven members to draft a memorandum to be submitted to the Prime Minister was formed. The members are Y Joykumar, Deputy Chief Minister as chairman, Y Surchandra Singh, MLA (BJP) as member, Dr Ng Bijoy Singh, ex-MLA (Congress) as member, Ksh Santa (CPM) as member, Dr S Manaoton (AITC) as member, S Indrakumar (Shiv Sena) as member and N Samarjit Singh (NIEDP) as member.
