Naga lad selected for ARISE launch pad

A Dimapur based private company, North East Naga Traders Private Limited (NENTPL) today announced that one of its trainee by the name of Katoho S. Achumi has been selected for ARISE, a launch pad for Agri-startups conducted by Indian Agriculture Research Institute (IARI), a Ministry of Agriculture initiative.  

This incubation programme identifies young entrepreneurs/ideas at various stages of their development and provides mentoring and industry exposure to develop a viable business proposition.  

Announcing this at a press conference held at the main office located at Purana Bazaar, Dimapur, NENTPL Managing Director and Nodal Training Officer, Kathi Chishi stated, “I feel extremely happy to announce the news that one of our trainees has been selected. I hope that Katoho’s achievement will also inspire other young Naga entrepreneurs to work hard and focus on entrepreneurship.”  

At the moment, Katoho is yet to return from his training being held at Delhi. Aged 28 years, he is also one of the youngest candidates at the ARISE launch pad.  

His project focuses on “Pine Resin Extraction” and the project cost reportedly amounts to a total of Rs. 6.5 crore.  

Kathi also took the opportunity to announce the Green Business Challenge 2016 for budding agriculture entrepreneurs from Eastern and the Northeastern region of India, where NENTPL is the road show partner.  

A chance to unleash Agribusiness ideas into reality, he encouraged emerging Agri based entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs to submit their applications to http:/www.greenbusinesschallenge.com  

The challenge offers a chance to win cash prize, business incubation support, mentoring in essential business skills and lots more.  

The road show will be held on September 25 at 1:30 pm at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur.  

This event is a joint initiative of ICCO Corporation and Innovative Change Collaborative Services PVT.LTD (ICCSPL). It strives to find and foster Agri-preneurs with innovative ideas which addresses the modern day agriculture challenges. Kathi also expressed hope that ‘positive results and ideas will come out from this event’.  

He further added that they have tied up as partners with Sartup8, a new platform for startups in Nagaland.
