
Dimapur, January 29 (MExN): Naga leader General Saniba Ao has passed away on January 28 at his native Town, Mokokchung.
On demise of Late Gen. Saniba Ao, the Naga Hoho is shocked and with a heavy heart bids final goodbye to the well known legendary figure in the making of the Naga History, who also dedicated his entire life till his last breath for the service of the Naga people. Naga Hoho President Keviletuo Kiewhuo in a condolence message sated that Late Gen. Saniba Ao was a committed Naga nationalist, a vanguard and a tireless fighter for the wellbeing of the Naga people. He was elected as the Vice President of Naga Hoho at Zunheboto in 1998 and served in the same capacity with sheer dedication and commitment till 2003. His entire life have been devoted to the Naga cause, in which he suffered the hardship of prison and underground life, he became a mentor and a fatherly figure in Naga Hoho and won respect and acknowledgement both within and outside his own community.
The Naga Hoho also paid tribute to Late Gen. Saniba Ao for the vibrant life he has led and his example for being a true leader for our people. The Naga Hoho conveyed solidarity and deepest condolences to the near and dear ones and wishes that God Almighty will give solace at this moment of grief and sorrow.
Meanwhile, in another message I. Imkong has expressed regret on the demise of Gen. Saniba. I. Imkong in the message addressed to Mrs. Tamentula Sani recollected that “Since my childhood, I have had great admiration for this man” and it was a pleasure and an honour to work together during the revival of Changkikong Senso Telongjem Mongdang in 1981. Earlier, he had been serving in different capacities for the cause of the Naga nation and rose to become a General of the Naga Army. On his death, we have lost an eminent leader whose exemplary deeds and contributions to the Nagas and to the Ao Community particularly to the people of Changkikong is admirable and worthy of emulation by the present and future generations. At this time of grief and sorrow for this irreparable loss to the family and to me personally, my wife joins me in expressing our deepest condolences. It is our prayer that God Almighty will give you solace at this time of grief and prays that his soul rest in eternal peace.

APC NNC President Chosel Angami in a condolence message stated that the nation has lost a patriotic leader and conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and prays that Almighty God grant eternal rest to the departed soul.
