Ordained ministers dressed in their cassocks, led the ‘March for Unity and Solidarity’ in Ukhrul on March 27.
Ukhrul, March 27 (MExN): The three-day Naga Leaders’ Meet concluded with a solemn ‘March for Unity and Solidarity’, from Long Ground, Ukhrul to Union Baptist Church (UBC) the event venue.
The march began with a prayer of blessing led by Rev Izieteilung Tering, State Chaplain of Nagaland. The ordained ministers dressed in their cassocks, led the procession, followed by hundred of leaders in a strong display of unity. “This symbolic march marked a poignant and gracious end to the historic gathering, reinforcing the spirit of solidarity among Naga leaders,” an update received here stated.
Rev Dr Akheto Sema, General Secretary of CBCNEI, led the Holy Communion Service in the church, symbolizing unity in the body of Christ.

Leaders vow to strengthen faith, love and oneness in Christ
The Naga Baptist Leaders resolved to work towards strengthening the body of Christ by loving God and loving each other in every aspect. Further, resolved to a community of faith and action and thereby brighten this world of crisis. To this end the fellowship is committed to: Worship God in spirit and truth; member care with love and compassion; One Mission – Witness Christ in words and deeds; Promote the oneness of the Nagas in Christ; Propose to organize a prayer Summit in the near future.

‘Divine truth, not personal rights, unites us’
Imnatoshi Longkumer, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, delivered the closing remarks, emphasizing that true oneness in Christ must be founded on divine truth rather than personal rights or beliefs. He urged the believers to relinquish their rights and privileges for Christ, declaring, “Only the Truth that comes from God can unite us, and we must uphold its banner above all else”.
The event ended with a benediction pronounced by Rev L Timothy, Pastor, Namdulong Baptist Church.
