Dimapur, January 10 (MExN): Two Naga musicians DJ Ina (Ina Zhimo) and Tuden Jamir have made it to the VIMA INDIA Music Awards of 2014. Ina is part of New-Delhi based band called BK&INA, featuring one of the best rappers in India Borkung Hrangkhawl from Tripura. BK & INA has been declared the 1st runners-up in the category of “Best Genre Bender” for their debut single ‘FREE’.
Meanwhile, indie-pop singer from Dimapur, Tuden has been nominated among the top 5 artists in the Best Pop song category for his hit single ‘About a hat’. The song is from his debut EP The Renaissance Man, which can be downloaded from www.indihut.com. Along with Tuden, and BK&INA, another band from the North East ‘Yesterdrive’ hailing from Arunachal Pradesh has been listed in the Best Rock Song category with their debut single ‘Hold On’.
Coreconxept, a production company headed by creative Northeast youngsters, led by Yanger Lemtur from Nagaland, has helped in producing top quality music videos for these artists and is fast emerging as one of the top audio/video production companies in the region.
These selected winners will now go on to compete against the rest of Southeast Asia in the VIMA Asia grand finals which will be held at Platinum Lifestyle Club in Malaysia on March 22 this year.
