Two Naga singers from Nagaland, Tiakümzük Imchen and Imosongla took part in the opening and closing function of Inner-Mongolia Choral Festival held recently from June 28 to July 4 at Hohhot and Beijing Horticulture Exhibition 2019 Honor Day of Shanghai Cooperation on 6th July 2019 at Beijing, China.
They were the members in Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Countries Youth choir and the events were organized by the International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM) and Shanghai Cooperation Organisation respectively.
In the administrative center of the autonomous district of Inner Mongolia (Autonomous PRC) Hohhot passes a week of choral music ‘Inner Mongolia 2019’ from July 1 to 5.
At the event hosted by the government of autonomous and the International Federation of choral music (Ifcm), the youth choir of the countries of the Shanghai cooperation organization (SCOC), composed of 60 young performers from 18 member states, observer countries, was successfully debuted.
In the words of the advisor of the SCO Secretariat, Vladimir Zakharova, the choir was created on the initiative of IFCM to strengthen through the choral music of peace, mutual understanding and cooperation.
The Choir, which has up to 60 performers at the age of 18-35, uniting singers from 18 Eurasian countries was led by two world famous conductors - Maria Goundorina and André De Quadros, performing first of all the international repertoire.
The singers developed their musical and vocal talents, under the leadership of world-class conductors.
Tiakümzük Imchen did his Master of Music from European University Cyprus and Imosongla did her graduation from Nagaland Conservatory of Music, Dimapur. Both of them represented India in Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Countries Youth choir.
