Naga struggle is a defensive one: Wangtin Naga

Mon, May 20 (MExN): President of NSCN/GPRN (Reformation), Y Wangtin Naga on Thursday asserted that the Naga struggle was and is a defensive one and only for protecting the “country” against illegal invasion. He was speaking at the second anniversary of the group at CFSB office in Mon.  

“We are here to proclaim to the world that we are ‘champion of peace’ who retrieved back peaceful atmosphere after SS Khaplang unilaterally pulled out 14 years old ceasefire with GoI without consulting his co-workers,” Wangtin added, according to a press release from MIP, NSCN (R).  

“One can create history in his own interest unless God works behind him but in our case, we have created the history of peace contributing much.”  

This, he said, is how the NSCN/GPRN (Reformation) came into being on May 18, 2015 based on the principle of peace. The president on behalf of NSCN (R) appealed to all the Naga freedom fighters from all Naga political institutions to “rebuild our broken home before any solution.” He equally appealed to all comrades under NSCN (Reformation) to work for Naga peace and tranquility.  

Meanwhile, Wangtin proclaimed unending guide and protection of God in the Naga struggle.  

Earlier, the foundation programme was chaired by Zupeng, Kilonser, Planning & Development and Tia Temjen, Under Secretary. Silent prayer for “martyred” NSCN workers and invoking God’s blessing was pronounced by Chingo, Chaplain, CFSB Fellowship. Kavishe, Kilonser, Defence also spoke on the occasion. The celebration was well attended by host of Kilonsers, all ranks and files of both Civil and Military, the release informed.
