Khuto Chishi from Pilgrim Higher Sec School bags first in project work
Dimapur, June 9 (MExN): Khuto Chishi from Pilgrim Higher Secondary School, Dimapur was the only one selected from Nagaland state to part in the ‘Young Scientist Programme’ along with the 150 selected students across the country.
‘Yuva Vigyani Karyakram’ (YUVIKA) or ‘Young Scientist Programme’ was organized under the aegis of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to impart basic knowledge on space technology, space science and space applications to young students, especially for those from rural areas. The programme is aimed at creating awareness about the emerging trends in science and technology amongst the youngsters.
A press release from Pilgrim HSS stated that Khuto Chishi bagged first prize in project work. He also earned a citation, participation certificate, tablet and study material during the programme.
The YUVIKA-2022 residential programme ran for two weeks from May 16 to 28. The schedule included talks, experience-sharing by eminent scientists, experimental demonstration, facility and lab visits, exclusive sessions of discussions with experts, practical and feedback sessions.
The programme was held at five ISRO centres- Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Thiruvananthapuram; UR Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), Bengaluru; Space Application Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad; National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Hyderabad and North-East Space Application Centre (NE-SAC), Shillong.
