Naga Students’ Union Guwahati freshers’ meet

59th Freshers’ meet of the Naga Students’ Union Guwahati (NSUG) on November 5.

Kohima, November 7 (MExN): MLA Dr Neisatuo Mero graced the 59th Freshers’ meet of the Naga Students’ Union Guwahati (NSUG) on November 5 under the theme “Embracing our heritage and uniting our future.”

Gracing the meet as the chief guest at Shilpgram, NEZCC Panjabari, Guwahati, MLA Dr. Mero congratulated the freshers as well as all the students and further expressed expectancy of students coming back home to serve the people with their success from different fields.

Congratulating the office bearers of their commitment, Dr Mero reminiscence of his student life at Guwahati, which served “our people away from home with kindness, care, love and affection.” Dr Mero recalled serving as secretary and president of Nagaland Service Guwahati (NSG) now known as NCF, catering to the needs of the fresher students and as well as the patients coming to Guwahati for studies and medical treatments.

The NSG took care of them to the best of their capabilities. He challenged the students to be responsible and accountable to the dreams and expectations of their parents back home vested on them, by showcasing their moral and ethical good side of the Nagas even when outside the state. He called everyone to remember their roots, as it is where the values of life, culture and traditions take its full shape.

Dr Mero also stressed upon learning each other’s languages which can act as an important source to unify and bring people closer to each other.
