Naga Students’ Union Mizoram welcomes 49 freshers

Dimapur, October 16 (MExN): The Naga Students' Union Mizoram observed its 24th Freshers Meet-cum-Cultural Day on the theme, ‘Towards Identity and Empowerment’ at Art & Cultural Auditorium, Berawtlang, Mizoram on October 15. 

According to a press release received here on Sunday, MLA & Vice Chairman, Human Resource Development Board, Government of Mizoram L Thangmawia, who was addressing the student community as the special guest shared how the states of Nagaland and Mizoram as neighbouring states, share a close knitted and good relationship with each other. 

Among many similarities, the MLA expounded the ways of Christianity that the state has followed from Nagaland apart from the freedom struggle for independence that Nagas have endeared this far. 

He encouraged the students to know one's priorities and purpose; that is to do well in studies. 

Thangmawia advised the students to focus on one's academics and asked them to strive and contribute to the community and nation and serve one's state. 

During the programme, 49 Freshers students were welcomed while Atyule Tep, Optometry Department, RIPANS and Zubenthung M Kikon, Department of Masters in Library and Information Science, Mizoram University were declared Miss & Mr Freshers, 2022. Naga Christian Fellowship, Mizoram Pastor Benjamin prayed for the Freshers, the release stated.
