
Dimapur, April 16 (MExN): The Naga Traditional and Cultural Center Committee in Myanmar has been renamed as Naga Traditional Literature and Cultural Center. The committee was renamed during its general meeting held from March 23 – 27 in Khamti district, Sagaing Regional, Myanmar. The attendees were selected representatives from every township of Myanmar where Nagas live, informed a press release issued by the Joint Secretary of the Centre, David Long Saing.
Naga Traditional Literature and Cultural Center has been formed for the development of traditional literature and culture of all the Naga clans in Myanmar in relation to other tribal groups in the country, the release stated.
New Commission was formed for the Centre and new leaders were chosen from different sectors respectively such as Education, Traditionally Experienced, Business, etc. The term for the Commission/leaders will be as of the Government (5 years).
The names of the leaders (Commission) are as follow: Patrons: U Kay San – Chairman of Naga Self Administrative Zone, U Hla Phe, U Hla Htut, U Myat Ko, U Naung Khom. Office Bearers: U Aung Htut – Chairman, U Ya Poh – Vice Chairman, U Mat Chu – General Secretary, U David Long Saing – Joint Secretary.
