Naga tribes present cultural diversity on 10th day of Hornbill Festival

KOHIMA, DECEMBER 10 (MExN): The 10th day of cultural extravaganza witnessed various tribes of Nagaland presented by the Department of Art & Culture with the theme ‘Cultural Connect’ was held at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama on December 10.

The session was attended by Advisor, Urban & Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio as the Host, while Advisor, Land Resources, G. lkuto Zhimomi and MLA, Y. Mhonbemo were the Co-Hosts.

The programme was marked by traditional dances and folk songs from Khiamniungan Cultural Troupe; Shikuoh Nuhe Tsuchong (Pre- War Dance), Lotha Cultural Troupe; Yingpvulo Hethei Tsokphita Khuvurita (Game), Chang Cultural Troupe; Song of praise, Rengma Cultural troupe; Aghali (Rengma Folk Dance), Tikhir Cultural Troupe; Beuru Nye Tsin (Mens Folk Dance), Garo Cultural Troupe; Wangala Dance, Angami Cultural Troupe; Howe (Folk Song with Action), Kuki Cultural Troupe; Salu Lap Lam, Phom Cultural Troupe; Bangjenpu  (Attacking Enemy’s Morung). 

The afternoon cultural session of the last day of the Hornbill  Festival 2023 was graced by Minister  Panchayat and Rural Development, Food,  Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs, Law and Justice, GAD, Government of Assam, Ranjeet Kumar Dass as the Chief Guest, while Advisor,  New & Renewable Energy and Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority, Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe as the Host and also MLA, A.  Nyamnyei Konyak and MLA, Y.  Mankhao Konyak as the Co-Hosts.

The colourful traditional display was presented by Konyak Cultural Troupe, Ao Cultural Troupe, Kachari Cultural Troupe, Zeliang Cultural Troupe, Pochury Cultural Troupe, Chakhesang Cultural Troupe, Yimkhiung Cultural Troupe, Sumi Cultural Troupe and Sangtam Cultural Troupe.
