DIMAPUR, August 19 (MExN): Minister for PHED and Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi inaugurated the Pimla Village Gate, on August 19. A press release informed that the Minister at the inauguration paid tributes to the pioneers of the village, which was established in May 1954. He said that the village has come a long way and credited the pioneers “who dreamt the dream and foresaw a vibrant future for Pimla Village.”

He termed village gates as integral to the broader Naga identity, symbolising unity, strength and harmonious coexistence. While wishing that the gate continue to stand as an emblem of good fortune for the villages and its inhabitants, he also emphasised on unity to achieve progress and lasting change. Lauding the past and present village leaders for their commitment towards preserving the identity of the village, he called upon everyone to know God without whose blessings they could ever move forward. He further said that the state government was ever ready to extend assistance of any kind for the development of villages but also reminded of the necessity to judiciously utilise funds.
