Three women entrepreneurs - Karen Yepthomi, Temsusenla and Jesmina Zeliang from Nagaland state have been conferred the Vasundhara NE Woman Entrepreneur of the Year awards.
Apart from the 17 State awardees, five exceptionally successful women entrepreneurs from the NE region were inducted into the Vasundhara Hall of Fame and honoured on April 26 at New Delhi.
Karen Yepthomi of Dzukou Kitchen bagged the Vasundhara Women Entrepreneur Award for 2015-16 from Nagaland while Temsusenla of the Fusion Store was conferred the Vasundhara Women Entrepreneur Award for 2016-17 from Nagaland. The Vasundhara Hall of Fame award was given to Jesmina Zeliang from Nagaland for promoting handicraft items.
IGP Robin Hibu, the first IPS officer from the North Eastern state of Arunachal was the chief guest of the award event.
Organised by the Guwahati-based Sreemanta Sankar Mission, Vasundhara NE Woman Entrepreneur of the Year is Northeast India’s first and one of a kind award and felicitation programme founded in 2012. “The award is considered as a benchmark for women entrepreneurs in Northeast India who have reached quantifiable levels of success and excellence by the dint of their hard work and perseverance,” the organisers informed.
