The prestigious Naga Wrestle Mania 9 – King of the Ring Series 2022 under the aegis of 3E Nagaland will be held from October 20-22 at Hockey Ground, Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.

Announcing this during a press conference here Friday, 3E managing director Kethosietuo Mepfhuo said the championship will be held in two categories- Lightweight championship and Heavyweight championship. 16 each top wrestlers in both the categories will compete for the final series - King of The Ring Championship, he said.

He also informed separate cash prizes will be awarded for all series with a total of over Rs. 5 lakh and bonuses from Pay Per View (PPV) and telecast rights.

He said that registration will start from June 20 and may close on any date depending of number of registered wrestlers, limited to 60 in each series. Registration forms will be available at Orchid Store Razhü Point, Sport World, Taxi Stand and TMK Market High School Junction.

Informing that Chabou & Co. (JCB & Niathu Group) are on board as event partner, he said slots are still open for title/presenting sponsor, associating sponsor, prize sponsor, hospitality partner, medical partner, powered by, etc. He also said that the championship will be telecast online in their YouTube channel at Rs 300 per view.

In this, he invited other YouTubers willing to take video to avail telecast rights as illegal streamers will attract copyright strikes as the event is copyrighted property of 3E Nagaland. However, he also said that livestreaming will not be allowed under any circumstance since this is a PPV event. 

3E General Secretary, Dzüvinguzo Dzüvichü informed that four US-based Chin wrestlers have already confirmed participation in the forthcoming championship.

It includes three in heavy weight Biak Hmun Sang (a.k.a Brown), the current Champion and the most popular in Chin wrestling, Uk Lian Thang, Thla Hlei Nawl Lian and one in lightweight - Van Ceu Hmung. He also said that negotiations are in progress to bring in wrestlers from Myanmar.
