Advisor for Power, Tovihoto Ayemi on Saturday said that 100 percent household electrification in rural and urban areas under SAUBHAGYA Scheme has been completed in December 2018. Addressing a gathering on the occasion of Republic Day celebration at Shamator public ground, Tovihoto also said that augmentation of power supply to bridge critical gaps between demand and supply of power had been taken up by upgradation of existing 100 MVA to 200 MVA in Dimapur.
He further said that laying of 220KV D/C Transmission line from Dimapur to Zhadima was in good progress. Tovihoto informed that augmentation of water supply to Wokha town, New Peren District headquarter has been commissioned.
The Advisor maintained that the PDA government was committed to making the state more accessible and ensuring that the rights of the differently-abled people are protected both in letter and spirit. He emphasized on the need to create employment opportunities to make people economically self-reliant. Tovihoto called upon the people to inculcate a sense of ownership and responsibility and to come together and work towards achieving the goal.
Earlier, Tovihoto hoisted the national tri-colour and reviewed the marching contingents. Later, the Advisor also inaugurated and inspected the Exhibition Stalls. During the programme, cultural performances were presented by VG Cultural Troupe of Shiponger village, Lunsoberu Cultural Troupe of Shamator, and DBs Shamator. The 45th AR Shamator also presented Pipe Band and Weapons display.
