A 12-year old girl was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Dimapur on July 1. A suspected case of murder, the girl was found dead at her home in Phaipijang village in the evening.
The deceased was found with her throat slit around 7:00-7:30 pm, informed the police. The police said that the girl, a class 6 student, was staying with her aunt and uncle at Phaipijang. Her biological parents live in the village.
Citing preliminary inquiry, the police said that on Sunday evening her aunt and uncle went to church while she stayed back at home. Her lifeless body was discovered when they returned home after the Sunday evening church service.
No further details could be had as the police said that inquiry was still in the preliminary stage.
