Tuensang, September 13 (MExN): The 2nd edition of Tuensang District Football Association Cup 2018 was declared open by Chairperson Nagaland State Commission for Protection of Child Rights Awan Konyak on Thursday at Parade ground, Tuensang.
Speaking on the occasion, Awan reflected on the theme ‘surpass the game’ adding that one should aspire beyond what rules and regulations; to think out of the box; to break the mould; and to be creative and innovative.
She further pointed out that we should use the positive aspect of our rich traditional heritage and become leaders in different fields and bring positive changes to the social construct.
Awan also said that, the people have great potential to bring about and create new bench marks to all the existing parameters in the world and that we should all have the will and perseverance to perform to the best of our abilities.
She further opined that, games in general can be compared with how we live our lives, adding, one should be humble in victory and gracious in defeat and encouraged upon the players to maintain strict discipline and practice fair play.
The 2nd edition of TDFA Cup 2018 will witness a total of 28 teams slotted in 8 pools. In the opening match last year defending champion Excel Naga FC registered win against Sonic Strikers by 7-0.
In the second match of the day Keiyang XI FC defeated Mohican Boys FC by 4-0 goals.
