43rd Batch of Forest Guard Trainees completed their six months training from State Environment and Forestry Training Institute, Dimapur on May 31.
Dimapur, May 31 (MExN): 43rd Batch of Forest Guard Trainees completed their six months training from State Environment and Forestry Training Institute (SEFTI), Dimapur on May 31. The trainees included 39 personnel posted in 13 forest divisions across Nagaland.
The Director, Shakiba Yimchunger, IFS delivered the Academic Batch Report & Declaration of Result of the Batch, stated a press release received here.
Two trainees of the Batch achieved Honours Certificate (75 % and above marks in aggregate), 30 trainees achieved Higher Standard Certificate (above 50% marks in aggregate but less than 75%) and 7 trainees achieved Completion Certificate.
The training programme recognises three special awards in each training batch which are awarded during the convocation programme. In the 43rd Batch, S Tiakaba Chang, Forest Guard from Tuensang Division was awarded the Best Forester in overall performance, Bisesal Sakhru, Forest Guard from Intanki National Park was awarded the Best Forester in Academics and Petekhrietuo Peter Soliezuo, Forest Guard from Wokha Division was awarded the Best Forester in Extra- Curricular activities.
The convocation programme was graced by Supongnukshi Ao, IFS, CCF (Environment, Biodiversity & Research) as the chief guest. He commended that Department of Environment, Forest & Climate Change is “one of the best performing departments in the state” and reminded the passing out trainees to continue to be the eyes and ears of the department in the field.
Dharmendra Prakash, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Head of Forest Force attended the programme virtually. In his virtual address, conveyed his sincere thanks to the Nagaland Police especially the Director General of Police and Principal and officers of Police Training School, Chümoukedima for the cooperation and assistance in training the trainees in the handling of small arms.
He urged the passing out trainees to go back with renewed vigour and assured them that the department is always there to take care of their problems. He also reminded them that they are the working hands of the department.
Hukato Chishi, IFS, Member Secretary, State Pollution Control Board, Nagaland also spoke on the occasion. He reminded everyone about the green pledge under LiFE (Lifestyle for environment) to make all possible changes in our daily life to protect the environment and to motivate friends and others about the importance of environmentally friendly habits.
The programme was chaired by Raj Priy Singh, IFS, Conservator of Forest (Research, Planning & Utilization). Obed Bohovi Swu, Deputy Director delivered the welcome address and vote of thanks was delivered by Sosinle Magh, Faculty.
