Nagaland: 7-day lockdown in Pfütsero

Phek, July 28 (MExN):  Following an emergency meeting of the Phek District Task Force, Phek Deputy Commissioner Sachin Jaiswal has promulgated ‘lockdown’ in Pfütsero town jurisdiction from July 29 to August 4.

An order from the DC on Tuesday stated that the lockdown measures have been imposed to enhance active surveillance, ensure comprehensive contact tracing, detection of suspected cases and implementation of isolation measures in order to contain the spread of COVID-19 infection. 

According to the order, all categories of shops except for pharmacies, shops selling essential; commodities and fuel outlets can remain open from 6:00 am to 12:00 pm.

All public and vehicular movement is prohibited from 1:00 pm onwards, except for medical emergencies, police and administration. For vehicles including those dealing with essential services within Pfütsero town shall be restricted subject to movement permits issued by the sub-divisional task force on COVID-19, the order stated.

Inter-state and inter district movement have also been restricted. However, movement for medical emergencies and essential goods and services will be allowed with proper safety measures in place.
