Nagaland Adolescent Girls Club observes International Youth Day

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 12 (MExN): The Nagaland Adolescent Girls Club (NAGC) under the aegis of the Nagaland State Social Welfare Board (NSSWB) observed the International Youth Day on August 12.

Every year on August 12, this day is celebrated to appreciate the value of youth. First celebrated on August 12, 2000, through this day the United Nations seeks to bring youth issues to the attention of the international community and celebrating the potential of youth as partners in today’s global society.   On the occasion, Ngimchule NPS, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Dimapur exhorted the girls by encouraging them to think big and never to give up on their dreams. Emphasising on the importance of being a youth and their value to the society Ngimchule urged the girls not to be swayed by negativity but to have confidence in themselves and to study hard to achieve their goal.

 Altogether 480 girls were present. A special performance was given by the IR Mahila Pipe band who also motivated the NAGC All Girls Pipe Band. Earlier, Juliana Medom, Supervisor & Nodal officer for Nagaland Adolescent Girls Club, NSSWB gave the introduction.
