Nagaland Adventure Club to host 9th Horsepower Challenge 2023

The Nagaland Adventure Club (NAC) in collaboration with NEXA Jimny is presenting 9th Horsepower Challenge from October 12 to 14 at Agri Expo, 4th Mile, Diphupar, Dimapur.

Seyie Auto and Progressive Motors will be the other title sponsors of the rally. Rs 5 lakh has been set aside at the total prize money. This was announced today by NAC during a press conference at De Oriental Grand hotel, Kohima.

NAC President Burakum Ao informed that the rally will feature Autocross and Autorickshaw. Autocross will feature the categories of SUV, Open, Stock and Rookie. Stock category and rally for Autorickshaw will be held for the first time in Nagaland.

We are expecting more than 70 participants this time, said Burakum, adding that Horsepower Challenge is one of the premier events in the north east.
The event will witness around 7 teams from North eastern states.

So far, riders from Meghalaya and Assam have already done registration. Arunachal Pradesh will also be joining the rally.
Three women riders have already registered for ladies category.

Registration
Early registration for SUV, Open, Stock and Rookie categories have been fixed at Rs. 4500,  late registration at Rs. 6000 and spot registration at Rs. 7000.
Early registration is open till October 9. Late registration is on October 10 & 11, and October 12 for spot registration. Any four wheel vehicle can participate in SUV category while any vehicle can join in Open category. Registration, publication and scrutiny for all vehicles will be done on October 12 while the main rally will take place on October 13 and 14.

Prize money
The champion in SUV category will be awarded with Rs 35,000 while 1st and 2nd runner up will receive Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively.
Open: Champion- Rs 60,000, 1st runner-up- Rs 40,000 and 2nd Runner up- Rs 20,000.
Stock: Champion- Rs 30,000, 1st runner-up- Rs 20,000 and 2nd Runner up- Rs 10,000.
Rookie: Champion- Rs 30,000, 1st runner-up- Rs 20,000 and 2nd Runner up- Rs 10,000.

Another round INCR in Nagaland next year
Burakum informed that the state government has already given green signal to NAC for holding another round of Indian National Rally Championship in 2024 in Nagaland by January or February 2024.

It expressed happiness to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and IDAN Chairman Abu Metha for having faith in NAC for conducting INRC and hoped that the government will help the Club. NAC is also planning to hold Mahindra Great Escape event as part of Hornbill Festival.
