Kohima, May 9 (MExN): Officials of the Directorate of Agriculture led by Joint Director, Dr I Amenla accompanied by DAO Kohima and staff visited Tseminyu district as part of the concurrent monitoring of the various schemes and activities of the department on May 7.
The team of officials visited two farm schools under ATMA and interacted with women farmers and farm school teachers and reviewed the progress of their activities, stated a DIPR report.
Later, the team held a meeting with the KVKs, ATMAs and department of Agriculture staff of Tseminyu at KVK, Tesophenyu. Dr Amenla encouraged them to regularly visit the farmer’s fields and to bring about innovative ideas in the farming system. She alerted them to continue crop watch as Fall Army Worm (FAW) was reported again this year and to quickly report so that timely control measures can be followed.
During the interaction, Dr Amenla emphasized on one to one interaction with the farmers.
