Peren, September 9 (MExN): The Jalukie battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR(N) busted an "illegal armoury shop being run under the guise of a mechanic repair" at C block New Jalukie in Peren on September 8, an offical release informed.
According to a release from the HQ IGAR (N), the security forces along with Police representative launched an operation and apprehended one individual, based on specific intelligence regarding presence of armoury shop in the area.
The troops recovered large number of weapons, raw material and equipment used for making/ modifying weapons like pistols and rifles, it said.
The apprehended individual along with recovered items was handed over to Jalukie police station, it added.
