Nagaland: Aspirants disapprove SRD for Staff Nurses

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 23 (MExN): The Nursing Aspirants of Nagaland have expressed disapproval of the recent notification issued by the Department of Health and Family Welfare on August 21. The notification announced a special recruitment drive (SRD)inviting 124 nurses for regular posts of Staff Nurse, a move that the aspirants claim undermines the principles of meritocracy and fair competition.

The group of aspiring nurses argued that the recruitment process should adhere to established norms, specifically through the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) and Combined Technical Services Examination (CTSE). According to the Nursing Aspirants, these methods ensure a free and fair competition, allowing all qualified nurses an equal opportunity to secure government positions.

In their statement, the Nursing Aspirants also voiced their support for the Nagaland Medical Students' Association (NMSA), aligning with their demand for a transparent and equitable recruitment process. They called for the special recruitment process, which they believed unfairly benefits a select few, to be rescinded in favor of a more inclusive approach that upholds the integrity of the medical profession in Nagaland.
