Dimapur, September 8 (MExN): A 22-member Nagaland team returned from Agartala, Tripura after participating in the North East Zone Inter State Badminton Championship held from September 4 to 7, 2025.
The team was led by Er Moamongba Longchari as Team Manager, while Tajenkaba Ao and Raju Chetri served as Team Coaches. Prior to the tournament, the team underwent a 20-day intensive coaching camp at the K Kire, IPS Indoor Stadium at Police Complex, Chümoukedima under Nagaland Police coaches Talenkaba Ao and Raju Chetri.
According to the Nagaland Badminton Association (NBA), the players “showcased incredible skill and talent” and secured medals in several categories during the four-day event.
“The President and members of the Nagaland Badminton Association congratulates all the medal winners and the Team Manager and Coaches who have made this possible,” the association said in a statement.
The NBA further expressed “special appreciation” to Rupin Sharma, IPS, Director General of Police, and his team of officers at Nagaland Police Complex, Chümoukedima, including James Kinghen, IFS, DIGP (Training) and Camp Commandant; Ben Longkumer, NPS, CO NAM; and Aaron Patton, NPS, CO 1st NAP Battalion, for allowing the association to conduct the coaching camp for the participants.
