
Dimapur, June 10 (MExN): Financial Literacy Week called by Reserve Bank of India from June 5 to 9 was observed in the state of Nagaland by holding awareness camps in villages by Financial Literacy Centres and Bank branches.
A total of 72 camps were conducted during the week. Three officials from RBI camped in the state during the week and participated in the awareness camps held in various districts.
The literacy week focused on four broad themes, viz. Know Your Customer (KYC), Exercising Credit Discipline, Grievance Redressal and Going Digital (UPI and *99#). During the camp, practical demonstration by downloading smartphone app ‘Bhim’ from google playstore and registering the users were carried out and shown how to transfer money, request money, check account balance, etc.
For feature phones, it was demonstrated how to do SMS banking by dialing *99#. Flyers containing detail on the four themes were distributed to the participants.
