DIMAPUR, JANUARY 27 (MExN): With the Nagaland State Cabinet deciding to go ahead with the Urban Local Body (ULB) polls, the Naga People’s Front (NPF) and the Nagaland State Unit of the BJP issued their election directives today. Nagaland State BJP President, Visasolie Lhoungu issued a notification in continuation of the party’s Election Whips issued on January 11 and 15 to party workers, officials and candidates statewide, by reiterating its earlier directives. The notification stated: “All party workers and officials should strive and work collectively to ensure the success of the party candidates while the party candidates should not withdraw but focus on their successes. The District Presidents as authorized shall coordinate with the candidates and party workers effectively.”
The NPF, in a notice, meanwhile directed all party rank and file at all levels to “strictly observe party discipline and ensure that elections to the said bodies are held successfully.” This was informed in a party directive issued by the NPF President, Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu, Secretary General, KG Kenye, Working President, Apong Pongener and Working President Huskha Yepthomi.
