‘Naga political negotiation gain new momentum under Modi leadership’

Marking one year completion of Namo 2.0, Nagaland state BJP today conducted a Nagaland Virtual Rally (Live Video Conference) at its Head office here wherein Union Minister of State for DoNER (Independent charge) and PMO Dr Jitendra Singh delivered the keynote address.


In his address, Nagaland’s Deputy Chief Minister and BLP leader Y Patton congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi, central leadership and all the BJP Karyakartas for the successful and meaningful completion of one year of the second term in office.


“One year of Namo-2 has been historic and a year of achievements for our country. It fulfilled long cherished dreams of decades,” Patton said in his address.


Patton maintained that the first year of Namo -2 has been both momentous as well as one with its share of challenges.
“Momentous in term of people mandate, pace of governance, benefits of various government programs, robust infrastructure, stronger and vibrant India etc,” he said.


However, it also has been challenging as we encountered COVID-19 pandemic, the Deputy CM said adding that Modi was applauded by the world leaders and by various global organizations for timely declaration of national lockdown and taking major effective steps in fighting the pandemic.


“Modiji has taken several steps for fighting the spread of this COVID -19 pandemic, from the call for ‘Janata Curfew’ to the subsequent National Lockdown starting 24th March 2020 onwards, keeping in mind the importance of ‘Jaan Hai to Jahan hai’,’ Patton said.


He said that under the initiatives of the central government, thousands of civilian stranded abroad were evacuated and brought back safely to India under ‘Vande Bharat’ and Samudra Setu’ missions.


Nation-wide Shramik Special Trains were pressed in service to ferry lakhs of migrant workers to their home destinations.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana, a relief package of Rs. 1.7 Lakh crore was announced by Modi government, Patton said.


Earlier, the programme was chaired by S Phangnon Konyak, president Mahila Morcha Nagaland while welcome address was delivered by BJP Nagaland vice president Tsangse Sangtam.


Vote of thanks was proposed by Nagaland state BJP president Temjen Imna Along.

 

Some activities & achievements of Namo 2.0

 

Patton highlighted some activities and achievements as follows:

•    Passing of legislation against the Triple Talaq 
•    Repealing of Article 370 and 35A in J&K, the Modi government has ‘strengthen unity and integrity of our country’ 
•    Facilitating the settlement of Babri-Masjid issue in Ayodhya.
•    Citizenship (Amendment) Act.
•    Solved the long-pending issue for Sikh devotees by ensuring access to Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib.
    Bold decision to appoint the chief of defence staff for the first time 
•    Settlement of 34,000 people belonging to Bru community in Tripura by signing the Bru- Reang Refugee agreement. 
•    Boro Agreement to permanently resolve the long pending issues in Assam.
•    The protracted Naga political negotiation has gained a new momentum under Modi 
•    Housing for all under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
•    More than 1 crore beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat Yojana.’
