Nagaland: BJYM Modi Youth Marathon on September 20

Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Nagaland will organise a statewide marathon on September 20. Making the announcement at a press conference in Dimapur on September 9, the BJYM informed that the event will be part of the 16-day celebration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday. To be held under the banner of Sewa Pakhwada 2025, the celebration will run from September 17 to October 2 across the state.

The marathon will be held under the theme- War Against Drugs, and aims to promote fitness and youth engagement against a growing drug menace in Nagaland.

They are expecting over 3000 participants. The marathon will start from the Thahekhu village ground and culminate at the DDSC Stadium via Dhobinulla and Clock Tower. There will be no age limit for participation. Online registration will soon be launched. Participants will receive certificates, while winners will be awarded prizes.

According to the BJYM, local athletes and sportspersons will also be roped in as ambassadors of the campaign. They said that the initiative reflects the Prime Minister’s commitment to the welfare and empowerment of youth by targeting the curbing of substance abuse, promoting skills and sports among young people.

The BJYM appealed to students, athletes, and the wider youth community of Nagaland to come forward and join the marathon in large numbers, turning the event into a state-wide movement for a healthier, drug-free future.

The press conference was addressed by BJYM state President Khekato Awomi; BJYM General Secretary, Rajat; BJYM state General Secretary, Likao Odyuo; and BJP state General Secretary Manai Konyak.
