
33 A/C Suruhuto BJP unit clarifies
Dimapur, June 28 (MExN): In a rejoinder to the claim made by some of the BJP district unit presidents against the State BJP President Temjen Imna Along on June 26, the 33 A/C Suruhuto-Asuto termed the claims “baseless and absurd.” The decision was made without the knowledge of the Mandal President, it said. In a statement issued on June 28, the 33A/C clarified that the Zunheboto district BJP president, who was one of the signatories, did not even have a consultation with the district unit presidents. Therefore, the 33A/C Suruhuto termed the act of Zunheboto District BJP President as “purely by his own vested interest” and said that it does not have an iota of linkage with them in this regard. It said that the 33A/C Suruhuto will continue to extend full support to Temjen Imna Along.
L Khumo mourns
Kohima, June 28 (MExN): Nagaland’s Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, Economic & Statistics And Evaluation Advisor L Khumo mourned the sudden demise of Temsu Imsong, SDFO, Longleng who passed away on June 28. Khumo stated that late Temsu Imsong was a sincere and dedicated officer and had contributed immensely to the department in various capacities. He prayed to Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul.
NSCN (IM) condoles
Dimapur, June 28 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) on Sunday mourned the demise of Lieutenant (Posthumous) Kinwibou Pamei of the General Headquarters, Naga Army from Longpram village under Makuilongdi Region on June 28 while on duty. A press release from the MIP stated that late Kinwibou served the Naga nation with unwavering patriotism until his demise. “The void created by his demise is deeply felt and would be difficult to fill in,” the release said, while conveying condolence to his bereaved family members and friends.
TSUD informs on desktop delivery
Dimapur, June 28 (MExN): The Tenyimi Students' Union Dimapur has informed that delivery of desktops will be temporarily stopped due to unavoidable circumstances arising out of disruption of courier services across the country because of COVID-19 pandemic. In its press release on June 28, the Union informed that it will resume delivery after July 15 or when the courier services restarts, and apologized for the inconvenience caused. All bookings will be suspended indefinitely, the Union said, adding that any student who wants to cancel their booking can do so by sending their cancellation notice to the given number: 8515988973 (Pouhemlung Rongmei, Deputy Speaker TSUD).
STMS conducts 10th phase of relief programme
Dimapur, June 28 (MExN): St Thomas Mission Society (STMS) Dimapur on June 28 distributed food kits with essential items to COVID-19 lockdown affected families of Midland and nearby areas. Mission society secretary, Fr Dr P S Varghese and Rev Fr Gemcy Eappen led the distribution along with Church managing committee members and women volunteers of the church, according to a release from the society. This is the 10th phase of the mission society's 'Food for Security COVID-19 relief program.’ The society informed that in this phase they reached out to 75 beneficiaries including 20 food kits to 'God is Love ministry for distribution among the People Living with HIV (PLHIV). So far STMS has distributed 740 food kits. The secretary expressed gratitude to the sponsors of food items for this phase, and stated that the society intends to continue the relief work in the coming weeks. He solicited the cooperation of all well wishers.
WCYO appeals Zeliang Youth for action against assailant
Dimapur, June 28 (MExN): The Western Chakhesang Youth Organisation (WCYO) has taken strong exception at the alleged assault on one fireman identified as Wechiete Kapfo, serving at Nagaland Fire and Emergency Services Peren by one Akung Zeliang ,a driver attached to DC Peren on June 20. The WCYO said that it has come to its knowledge that the accused has also caused trouble in the past on numerous occasions. Issuing a strong message, the Organisation said that the concerned person “should not take our patience as our weakness, because if this precedent continues, it shall jeopardize our strong bond of unity and fraternity.”
The WCYO also made an earnest appeal to the Zeliang Youth to take proactive action against the erring man, saying that they have taken serious cognisance of the matter in regard to his violent nature, “which is nothing but deliberately committed with the sole intention to create communal crisis in such a time as this.” Terming the ‘unfortunate behavior’ of the driver as a “direct insult and threat to the Chakhesang Community as a whole,” the WCYO said that “if any unpleasant situation arises in the future, he shall be held responsible for the mayhem.”
Charity packets distributed to widows in Dimapur
Dimapur, June 28 (MExN): The Calvary Hills Ministry (CHM) distributed charity packets of food grains to single mothers and widows in Dimapur.
According to a press release from the Director of CHM, Y Imtichuba Chang, beneficiaries were from 6th Mile, 5th mile, 4th mile, Darogapathar, Naharbari, Padumpukhri, Purana Bazar, Burma Camp, Walford, Half Nagarjan, and Signal Angami areas. The Director further expressed gratitude towards the donors and well-wishers for their generosity and support.
