Kohima, September 8 (MExN): The Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement (NCYM) celebrated its annual Youth Day today across various parishes in the Diocese of Kohima, aligning with the theme, "Those Who Hope in the Lord will Run and not Weary" (Isaiah 40:31).

The event, held at St. Xavier Church, Zhavame, under St. Ignatius Parish, Razeba, was marked by a series of inspiring activities. The Holy Eucharist, presided over by Rev. Fr. Kokto Kurian, Director of NCYM, served as the centerpiece of the celebration. In his homily, Fr. Kurian emphasized the virtues of hope, service, humility, and openness to God's healing touch.

Following the Mass, Dr. Rosou Pohena, President of NCYM, delivered the Presidential Greetings. Rev. Sr. Mariam Chothe, MSMHC, Lady Animator of NCYM, addressed the youth on the theme, encouraging them to trust in God's promises. She urged them to be beacons of hope for others, citing figures like Moses and Mother Teresa as examples.

The day featured a special number from the Zhavame Catholic Youth Association and a presentation by Stephen J. Kithan, Vibes Chief Editor of NCYM. The event concluded with a lively Futsal match between the Razeba Parish Youth and NCYM Office Bearers.

The celebration was anchored by Veronica Nriame, General Secretary of NCYM.
