
KOHIMA, OCTOBER 25 (MExN): The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Nagaland today that informed that the Election Commission of India (CI) has ordered Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls with January 1, 2024 as the qualifying date and accordingly the several revision activities have been scheduled in the coming days.
The Special Summary Revision will be conducted with reference to January 1, 2024 as qualifying date, with three subsequent qualifying dates, i.e. April 1, July 1 and October 1 of the year in which the final publication of electoral roll is done, informed a press release issued by CEO Nagaland Vyasan R.
For the current revision, the applicants, becoming eligible for registration with January 1, 2024 as qualifying date and subsequent qualifying dates of the year i.e. April 1, 2024, July 1, 2024 and October 1, 2024 can submit their claims in Form – 6 in advance, beginning from the date of draft publication of electoral roll, it said.
Applications received with a qualifying date of January 1, 2024, will be processed according to the schedule mentioned above, and the electoral roll will be updated with the final publication.
Forms or claims referring to subsequent qualifying dates within the year, which are submitted in advance during the Special Summary Revision period and continuous updating thereafter, will be handled by the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) during the relevant quarter, the release said.
Various forms:
• Form 6: Application for new voter/elector
• Form 6B: Letter of information regarding Aadhar number, provided voluntarily for the purpose of E-roll authentication
• Form 7: Application form for objections to proposed inclusion/deletion of names in the existing electoral roll
• Form 8: Application form for residence shifting, correction of entries in the existing electoral roll, replacement of EPIC (Electors Photo Identity Card), or marking of Persons with Disabilities.
Citizens can submit any of these forms to the respective Booth Level Officer, AERO, or ERO. These forms are available for download on the ECI and CEO's websites. Alternatively, applications can be filed or submitted online through www.voters.eci.gov.in (links provided on the ECI and CEO's websites) or via the mobile app called VHA (voter helpline app), which can be downloaded from Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
