Nagaland Chief Minister goes into self-quarantine

Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio announced today that he has gone into self-quarantine as a precautionary measure upon his return from New Delhi.


“As a precautionary measure, I'm on self-quarantine on my return to Nagaland from Delhi. Taking precautions to ensure safety of others & myself,” he updated on Twitter.


Rio, however, informed that he would be “continue discharging duties” during the quarantine period. 


“Please follow official advisories/guidelines, wear mask, maintain social distancing & observe hygiene,” he added. 


Rio was recently in Delhi, during which he meet Union Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, among  others, on July 15. 


The Chief Minister's announcement came a day after the Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton informed that he would also be going into self-quarantine along with some of his colleagues after coming into contact with a infected person in Delhi.
