DIMAPUR, AUGUST 22 (MExN): The Chumoukedima Area GBs’ Union (CAGBU) has expressed happiness that the work for improvement of the Dimapur city portion of NH-29 from New Field Check Gate to Chathe Bridge has commenced. Construction of 2-lane from Newfield check gate to Zion Hospital junction and 4-lane from Zion Hospital junction, Purana bazaar to Chümoukedima are indispensable for development of the area and needs to be taken up on priority basis, a press release issued by CAGBU stated.
While maintaining that the improvement of the said portion of the road is a much needed step, the CAGBU assured full support to the initiative and appealed all citizens to cooperate with the government in this project to ensure timely completion of the work as this project is for the welfare of all the people.
The CAGBU also requested all the village councils along the NH-29 to assist in the project to facilitate the works to progress unhindered. It also appealed the government to execute the project earnestly and to see that the project is completed on time and to ensure quality workmanship.
