‘Nagaland citizens should maintain fair election’

Kohima, March 18 (MExN): The Nagaland Law Student’s Federation (NLSF) president Imliben Lemtur, stated that Nagaland being a Christian state with 99.9% of population of Christians, citizens should maintain fair election by exercising individual franchise and not for proxy voting and booth capturing and also challenged the villagers to act as a Christian even during election avoiding money and muscle power.  

She was speaking at the NLSF second drive of fair election campaign at Nerhepheza village under Kohima district on March 13. The guest speaker Kozhokhoto Savi, president NVCO and convenor of ACAUT, legal cell spoke on how the money oriented election system is destroying our Naga society and also highlighted the impotence of fair election.  

NLSF vice president Ywang also stressed that the root cause for every corruption is election and therefore it’s high time to get rid of it.  

The Federation informed in après release that the campaign was attended by village council chairman, secretary, and pastor and youth leaders by participating with keen interest and suggested to cover entire district for the betterment of the society. They also assured to mobilize within the village.
