The institute, while constantly striving to exploit the potential of mithun as sources of meat, milk, hides and draught power has sought the active supports of the line departments of the mithun rearing states under the dynamic leadership of Nagaland CM who also own many mithun in his village.

The CM showed his zeal and keen interest for improvement of Mithun husbandry and lauded the ICAR-NRCM for continual scientific efforts towards understanding of Mithun production and health.
