Nagaland CM condoles mourns loss of lives in Mizoram 

Kohima, August 23 (MExN): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio have expressed deep condolences over the killing of at least 26 people due to collapse of on under-construction railway bridge on August 23. 

 “I am saddened by the news of the tragic incident at Sairang, near Aizawl, which resulted in the loss of lives of several people. I extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved families and pray for speedy recovery of the injured,” he tweeted. 

As per news reports, the accident occurred near Sairang area of Mizoram, about 21 km from state capital Aizawl on Wednesday morning.

Many other workers are feared trapped at the accident site, as around 40 workers were present when the mishap occurred at railway bridge was under construction over the Kurung River connecting Bairabi to Sairang.
