The Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio today lauded the member of the fourth estate - the press and news media – for their exemplary service and called for appreciating their role and extending cooperation to them.

“I thank members of 4th estate for exemplary service; facing immense challenges to report news, voice people’s problems & positively highlight shortcomings,” stated Rio in a post on his official twitter handle.

He further noted that their role is crucial in the common fight against the current COVID-19 pandemic and extending cooperation to them wherever required.

‘Request all to appreciate their role and extend cooperation wherever required. They're crucial and imp partners in our common fight,’ the CM added in the post.

Rio statement came in the wake of many media professionals in the state expressing concerns over the restrictions on their free movement from various state and non-state agencies during current 21-day current lockdown as a measure to combat COVID-19.
