Nagaland CM reviews Lower Tizu hydro project

Kohima, February 2 (MExN): Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, accompanied by key ministers and officials, reviewed the proposed Lower Tizu Hydro Electric Project (42 MW) on January 30 during a visit to the area en route to Mimi Village.

The delegation included Minister of Power and Parliamentary Affairs K.G. Kenye, Minister of Tourism and Higher Education Temjen Imna Along, Minister of Rural Development and SIRD Metsubo Jamir, Advisor for Geology and Mining and DUDA W. Chingang Konyak, Advisor for NRE and NSDMA Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe, Advisor for Fire and Emergency Services, Home Guard, and Civil Defence S. Kiusumew Yimkhiung, and MLA Benei M. Lamthiu. Also present were Chief Secretary Dr. J. Alam, Commissioner and Secretary of Geology and Mining I. Himato Zhimomi, and General Manager of NST Shikaho P. Yeptho.

The team spent the evening at Lower Tizu, where they interacted with stakeholders regarding the proposed hydroelectric project, which aims to enhance the state's power infrastructure. Further details on the discussions and project timeline are awaited.
