Nagaland CM visits Mokokchung district

Mokokchung, May 7 (MExN): The Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio visited Mokokchung district on May 7.

 

According to a DIPR report, Rio convened a meeting held with officers and NGOs representing Ao Senden, Watsu Mungdang (Women organization) AKM, ABAM, MTBA and all ward president at DC Bungalow, Mokokchung on May 7.

 

During the meeting, the CM shared about the state economy during the lockdown period which has “suffered.” He appealed all to “reconstruct the state economy by going back to the land and start producing because if we fail in our economy we will not survive simply depending in central grants alone. We all must work together and rescue ourself.” On the stranded people movement, the CM called upon all to follow and maintain the protocol issued by the Government.

 

Deputy CM Y Patton and Metsubo Jamir, Minister in charge COVID-19 Mokokchung also spoke during the meeting.

 

Rio along with Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton visited COVID-19 Hospital Mokokchung. The CM inspected the arrangement and preparedness on all round medical and security in the District TB Hospital and Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) which were converted into District COVID-19 Hospital. At IMDH, Rio distributed relief package (food) to the daily wage earners and labourers.

 

The CM was accompanied by local elected members including TemjenImna Along, Minister for Higher Education & Technical Education, Longriniken, Advisor National Highway, Shariangin Speaker NLA and Imkong L Imchen MLA.
