The state’s department of health & family welfare today gave away awards for Best Kayakalp Districts of the state here today. This award was given away by minister for health & family welfare P. Longon during the launching programme of Nagaland Health Project, Malaria Elimination (NVBDCP), Rashtriya Swashya Bima Yojana and Jan Aushadhi (Generic Drugs) held today at Capital Convention Centre.
Kayakalp is a clean hospital initiative under Swachh Bharat where awards are given to the public health units in the state based on assessment on specific indicators given by Government of India. It is an initiative which started in 2015-16 where the prizes were awarded only to the districts hospital. This year’s award was given in the category of District Hospital (DH), Community Health Centre (PHC) and Primary Health Centre base on the parameters of hospital /facility upkeep, sanitation and hygiene, waste management, infection control, support services, hygiene promotion.

Community Health Centre Ist: CHC Medziphema, Dimapur- Rs. 10 lakhs’ 2nd” CHC Viswema, Kohima- Rs. 5 lakh Commendation: CHC Noklak, Tuensang- Rs. 1 lakh
