DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 5 (MExN): The Nagaland Congress today informed that till such time that the Election Commission of India (ECI) gives the necessary clearance, the nomenclature of the party would remain ‘Nagaland Congress.’ It may be noted that the party had applied for change of nomenclature from its present name to that of Nagaland Reformation Party. A press note from the party said that the present name would however be used for all election purposes for the upcoming polls due to nearing State Assembly Election and also the heavy schedule of ECI currently bogged down with several upcoming Assembly Elections in India. “However, should ECI be able to clear the case before notification of State Assembly Election, scheduled sometime in February-March 2018, the party may face upcoming election as Nagaland Reformation Party (NRP),” it added. While expressing regret at any inconvenience caused, only for reason of short time factor and pressing circumstances, the party assured that sooner or later its nomenclature will be changed to Nagaland Reformation Party as desired by the public.
