Nagaland COVID-19: 16 new cases, 2 more recover

Sixteen new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the State on June 26 while 2 more recoveries were reported on the same day. 


Of the 16 new cases, 15 patients are from Quarantine Center in Kohima and 1 from Quarantine Center in Peren. 
Meanwhile, the 2 recoveries on June 26 were all patients from Jalukie. 


According to data from the Department of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of positive cases in the State stands at 371. Out of this, the total active cases are 204, and 162 have recovered. All the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals.


204 active cases are asymptomatic and 5 active cases are mild symptomatic cases, informed the Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha.


As per the distribution of the 371 cases by age, there are 4 cases between 0-17 years, 353 cases between 18-44 years, 12 cases between 45-64 years and 2 cases between 65-74 years. As per the distribution of gender, there are 265 males and 106 females.


A total of 5,960 persons are presently under facility quarantine. 

 

Containment zones demarcated in Khm
 

Dimapur, June 26 (MExN): In view of the detection of a COVID-19 positive person at upper PWD colony Kohima, Municipal Ward No-I I, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohima on June 26 issued an order demarcating  containment zones.


Traffic Point PWD junction from NH-61 — NSF Martyrs Park — Chakhesang CRC Church — Footstep down to Faith Harvest Church — Footstep to Govt. High School, PWD —Footstep leading to Circular road behind NPWD office — PWD office junction — Back to Traffic Point PWD junction NH-61 have been declared as containment zones in order to contain the spread of the disease/infection.


The areas are under active surveillance and all movement of persons or vehicles within the defined containment zone or area is strictly restricted /prohibited, the DC’s order said.  This order comes into immediate effect till further order, it added.

 

NRB Pughoboto closed
The Nagaland Rural Bank (NRB) Bank, Pughoboto Town has been closed as an employee of the bank came in contact with the NHAK employee who tested positive for COVID-19 on June 25. 


In a letter to the Zunheboto DC, the Pughoboto ADC informed that further contact tracing has been conducted, and the bank will be closed till the test result is out. 


The ADC advised that since NRB is the only bank in the sub division where most government transactions are done, an alternative needs to be arranged.
