A total of 35 samples out of 1,448 tested positive for COVID-19 in Nagaland on August 22, indicating a sample positivity rate of 2.42%.
According to the daily bulletin, Kohima reported the highest number of fresh positives on Saturday with 12 testing positive while Dimapur and Mokokchung reported 10 cases each. Kiphire, Mon and Phek accounted for one case each on Sunday. With the new cases, the State’s caseload increased to 29,589. Meanwhile, 52 new recoveries were also added to the State’s tally on Sunday, which increased to 27,151.
The recoveries were reported from Dimapur (26), Kohima (12), Mokokchung (8), Longleng (4) and Peren (2). The death toll in the State increased to 596 after one COVID-19 death was reported from Dimapur in the past 24 hours. Further, 14 more deaths have been categorized as nor-COVID related in the bulletin. There are 975 active COVID-19 cases in the State at present, out of which, 71 are admitted in COVID hospitals and 734 are under home isolation.
