Nagaland COVID-19: 37 new cases, 88 new recoveries

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 12 (MExN): 37 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Nagaland on November 12 taking the State’s tally to 9,615. The new cases reported today included 26 from Kohima, 9 from Dimapur and 1 each from Mon and Tuensang. This is out of 563 results which were received today. 

27 of the new cases are traced contacts, 5 are returnees/travelers, 3 are from the armed forces and security forces and 2 are frontline workers.  

Meanwhile 88 more patients have also reportedly recovered.  They include 46 from Dimapur, 38 from Kohima, 3 from Mon and 1 from Phek. The number of active cases in the State now stands at 786. Out of the 9,615 positive cases, the total recoveries so far are 8,683. 

According to data from the Health Department, 44 deaths have been confirmed as due to COVID-19 and 3 deaths are under investigation.

As per the severity of symptoms 733 active cases are asymptomatic, 28 active cases are mild, 11 active cases are moderate on oxygen, 10 active cases are severe on oxygen, 2 active cases are critical without oxygen and 2 active cases are on ventilator.

Further, out of 9,615 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people is: 4,091 cases from the armed forces/police, 1,691 cases from returnees, 3,363 cases from traced contacts and 470 cases of frontline workers.

A total of 65,043 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 63,992 samples have been received. In addition, a total 34,656 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and results of 34,649 samples have been received. Through Rapid Antigen Test 4,872 samples have been tested.
