Dimapur, July 11 (MExN): Nagaland reported 78 new COVID-19 cases out of 1,129 samples that were tested on Sunday, indicating a daily positivity rate of 6.90%. The new cases were reported from Kohima (40), Dimapur (11), Phek (3), Mokokchung (5), Zunheboto (5), Kiphire (7), Longleng (2), Wokha (3), Peren (1), and Mon (1). As per the daily bulletin issued by the State health department, a total of 33 cases were detected during self tests and random tests, 27 from traced contacts, 7 from returnees/travellers, and 4 from armed forces/ security personnel, while 7 were front line workers. Meanwhile, 77 patients who had previously tested positive for the virus recovered on July 11, taking the number of recovered cases to 23,775. The cumulative tally of infections in the State was 25, 976 while the active case count stood at 971. The COVID death toll in the state remained at 493 with no fatalities reported in the last 24 hours. Besides the COVID-19 related deaths, a total of 14 deaths have been categorised as ‘not COVID-19 related’ in the bulletin.
